TOUR ITINERARY:
🦁 DAY 1: FULL-DAY SAFARI IN THE NATIONAL PARK
Early Morning
— Transfer from your hotel to Zanzibar Airport
06:00 – Domestic flight to the mainland
06:30 – Arrival at Mtemere Airstrip, located just minutes from the entrance of Selous Game Reserve (now Nyerere National Park)
07:00 – Begin your land safari in the largest national park in East Africa
You’ll explore the vast savannah in a 4x4 safari vehicle with your guide. Expect to see elephants, lions, giraffes, antelopes, hippos, buffaloes, and an incredible variety of birds.
10:30 – Coffee or tea break in a scenic natural rest area
12:30 – Picnic lunch inside the park — beneath acacia trees or near a watering hole, surrounded by the wilderness
15:00–17:00 – Afternoon game drive along different routes as you make your way toward the lodge
17:00 – Check-in at Selous Safari Lodge. Dinner and overnight stay (full board included)
Evening at leisure — relax on the terrace with sunset views or by the fire under the stars
🐊 DAY 2: BOAT & LAND SAFARI + RETURN TO ZANZIBAR
06:30 – After breakfast, transfer to the Rufiji River
07:00 – Boat safari on the Rufiji — see hippos, crocodiles, and rare aquatic birds while gliding through calm waters. A unique perspective on African wildlife
10:30 – Return to shore and hop back into your safari vehicle
11:00–12:30 – Final land safari drive — a chance to spot animals you may have missed the day before
12:30 – Farewell picnic lunch inside the park
14:00–16:00 – Transfer to Mtemere Airstrip, say goodbye to your guide
16:00 – Flight back to Zanzibar
16:30 – Arrival and transfer to your hotel. End of tour
